To facilitate this process, all remote objects must derive from System.MarshalByRefObject. 5.1.3 Hosting remote objects A remote object must be hosted in a server application and the object is available only as long as the server is running. This server can be a minimal .NET managed executable which might do nothing more than register the object with .NET s remoting infrastructure.
